One of our favourite things about working in this industry is how supportive we are of each other. Thank you to our industry peers that have cheered us on and understand that a rising tide lifts all boats! We have been so overwhelmed with kind words & excited DMs after sharing our news last week ✨ We cannot wait for this giant step forward as a business!

To answer some of the most common questions we got… YES, we are staying our beautiful office & taking on full service clients for 2025 & beyond. YES, this means Renée and Julianne will still be the lead planners, and are not taking a step back or slowing down… And YES, while this was a plot twist, this was actually something we hoped and dreamed would happen many years ago when building the business! We feel beyond lucky this dream came true, but it’s all thanks to an industry that raises the bar, is not afraid to collaborate, and innovates every chance we get.

We have had a change in ownership! As of March 1st, we are thrilled to announce that we have been welcomed under the umbrella of our close friends & industry partners, Modern Rentals @modernrentals.ca With Julianne & our amazing team remaining in place, JYW will continue to offer the white glove, exclusively full service wedding planning experience we’re known for. Our collaboration will give us a unique opportunity to dream even bigger in the world of design and together we aim to bring about new opportunities for growth and innovation in our industry.

This is big! So, on a more personal note from Julianne…

“I couldn’t be more excited this opportunity presented itself at the perfect time. Any mother knows that the time you spend away from young kids is absolutely priceless. You have to make it count if you choose to be a working mom & that’s what fills your cup. Earlier this year, we announced our shift to exclusively offering full service planning so that we could focus on our core strengths & unleash our full potential & creativity on each event. I see this decision as an even bigger extension of that. I will get to focus more of my time and energy on what I truly love doing, on my clients and my team, while trusting the ownership to 2 incredible humans that I’ve known and had a major entrepreneurial crush on for 7 years, Suzanne & Scott. I cannot wait to see what lies ahead for JYW and the magic we’ll create under their ownership ❤️”

Hard to believe over 8 years ago we booked a flight to Paris with a mission to challenge ourselves and brought to life a styled shoot alongside @oliverflyphotography and @floraisonparis ✨ What a dream.

Since then, we’ve had the opportunity to plan beautiful weddings across the globe from South Africa, Italy, Greece and Mexico… And we can’t wait for the destinations that await us in 2024 and beyond 🌎 There are so many venues on our radar right now, but going back to Paris is definitely high on the list too 🇫🇷💋

Hi, hello bonjour 👋 It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself on here! I’m Julianne, the founder & lead designer at JYW.

I didn’t exactly stumble upon my career as a wedding planner… This business is a childhood dream that I’ve been lucky to turn into my reality 🤍

I started JYW fresh out of university, equipped with a commerce degree in entrepreneurship. After years of volunteering at events and working as a florist through my undergrad, I came out of the gates 13 years ago now and haven’t looked back since! Time absolutely flies and I’m loving this new phase where my clients are finally mostly younger than me, haha.

I am ridiculously passionate about weddings and delivering an unforgettable client experience. I love to laugh and have a good time. I love taking care of our vendor partners and finding new ways to elevate every event we work on. I am a very driven person who loves to continuously learn and innovate what we do.

I am also a mother of 2 young boys ages 6 months and 3 years. These little guys are my world! My husband Kristian and I met in high school but didn’t date till several years later, and the two of us are currently both training for a trail running race in July!

So, that’s a little about me, the face behind the name ✨Thanks for stopping by!
