A unique venue, romantic palette and hanging aircrafts created a party unlike most others.

The couple's shared interest and career in aviation resulted in one of the most unique wedding venues we've had the pleasure of working in.

Tatiana and Brad met working in the aviation industry and when they told us their wedding venue was at the Hangar Flight Museum, we couldn’t wait to start designing.

The wedding day took place in May, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. A traditional Ukranian ceremony enriched with symbolic tradition commenced in one of Calgary’s historical churches where Tatiana and Brad said their vows surrounded by close family and friends.

Designing the wedding reception was met with certain challenges due to the sensitive nature of the historical artifacts within the museum. Flowers and candles are not allowed, which are JYW design staples. Because of this, we intentionally played with textured lighting, crystal and metallics to create dancing light and a romantic setting. A beautifully curated farm to table dinner was served by Fork and Farm and a party full of dancing went all evening long.

This fun day wouldn’t have come together so flawlessly without the talented team behind it. Thank you all!
