Hiring the right wedding planner is about much more than just the X’s and O’s of the event, as we came to learn. You will spend countless hours on video and phone calls with this person. You will navigate crises that seem paramount not just to the event but also to your sanity. This person will play an intimate role on your most intimate day. Therefore, it cannot be understated how important it is to find someone you feel comfortable conversing with openly and honestly.

From day one, Julianne made us feel at ease with her warmth, genuine excitement, confidence, and poise under pressure. Though the million little tasks that go into planning your wedding seem daunting and insurmountable at first, Julianne breaks them down into manageable segments. We cannot underscore her organization, communication, and willingness to meet us where we were at. She even agreed to (virtually) attend my wedding dress shopping appointment! While we may have wanted more involvement than most, it was her warmth and humour in tandem with our trust in her that allowed us to develop what now feels like a friendship. Our meetings felt like we were casually chatting with a friend, as she took copious notes and asked detailed questions about who we are as individuals and as a couple to create exactly the type of wedding that would suit us both.

Throughout our wedding weekend, we were in awe of every detail, down to the ice cubes, that came to life in perfect execution. Our guests continue to rave that it was the best executed wedding they had ever been to!

I was what most people would call a rather “particular” bride, and I am admittedly extremely picky about the smallest random details. So when my husband and I decided to get married in Banff (a frequent travel destination for us, but still a destination wedding), we knew that we had a tall task in finding the perfect wedding planner for us.

While we interviewed a few different planners, Julianne was the only one who fit all 3 of the qualities we had hoped to find in our wedding planner: 1) someone who knew our venue like the back of their hand, 2) someone with many years of experience in the industry, who we knew would make the planning process as smooth as possible, and 3) someone whose style and attention to detail matched our own, and whom we could fully trust to flawlessly and beautifully execute our vision.

From the very first meeting and throughout the whole looong planning process (3 years thanks to COVID), the whole JYW team was so incredibly sweet and supportive. From helping us find the perfect vendor team, to handling our COVID postponement, to patiently answering many e-mails asking for advice on random things that weren’t really “planning” related at all… Julianne and Aimsley were always so gracious and helpful with their time and advice, and we felt so taken care of. Even when we threw some last-minute changes at them (requiring significant changes to our décor and design just a week or two out), they went above and beyond in making sure that everything would be beautiful and go smoothly.

We really can’t think of anything from our wedding day that we didn’t love. Aimsley (our lead planner) was there every step of the way to make sure that everything went according to plan (or if it didn’t, we sure didn’t notice!), and Julianne was also there from start to finish to make sure that the décor/design elements were perfect… and they really were perfect. (I never in a million years thought that I would cry over arches, but I literally burst into tears when I saw our reception setup.) We got SO many compliments from our guests on how perfect and beautiful everything was, and we know we could not have pulled the day off without the JYW team.

To Julianne, Aimsley, and the whole JYW team: Thank you for everything. We will never forget all your kindness, never-ending positivity, and hard work in helping us create this day that exceeded our already-high expectations.

I honestly don’t know what I would have done if it wasn’t for Julianne Young Weddings.  My husband and I both live in the states and due to our busy lifestyles, there was no way we could have planned a wedding by ourselves at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.  Julianne and her team are truly angels sent from above.  I was originally scheduled to have my wedding June 2020 but had to delay to June 2022 due to COVID.  Fortunately, I stuck around and could not be more grateful that I did.

I want to give a huge shoutout to Julianne for helping me bring my vision and decor to life.  From meeting her on our first virtual call, I knew I was in good hands.  She was so professional and I could tell she was really passionate about what she does.  Not only that, but she really does care for each of her clients.  I have so much respect for her and her team.

I had the pleasure to have Aimsley as my lead planner.  Aimsley helped me with the logistics of my wedding and everything in between.  She was definitely one of the most genuine, patient, and kindhearted humans I have ever met.  Aimsley was super responsive to my emails and kept me on track with any tasks that needed to be done.  Even with my slow response to her emails, she was always there when I needed her.  On the day of the wedding, she was very attentive to me and my wedding party, constantly checking up on us.  I can tell she is very hardworking and efficient and I cannot thank her enough for everything she did for us.  Next time I am in Calgary, I will for sure be stopping by to say hi!

We hired Julianne Young Weddings a little over three months before our desired wedding date. We were planning an elopement with dreams on making it “magazine worthy” in Banff National Park. Julianne Young Weddings was one of numerous wedding planners we reached out to in the Calgary/Banff area. From our initial meeting with Aimsley we were blown away with the organization, execution and care that she had to make her clients dreams a reality. Aimsley is easily one of the nicest, most loving humans I’ve ever met. From the first day I met her it was VERY easy to tell that she just loved her job and really enjoyed making her clients happy.

The team at Julianne Young Weddings from the start worked with us to achieve our dream elopement. They were attentive to detail, asked us lots of questions and always kept in touch via video chat or phone call. They provided us with their preferred hotel, restaurant and vendor recommendations. Aimsley also worked with us to find the perfect spot for our ceremony, executed a flawless and detailed timeline as well as handled contacting vendors the day of and created the most beautiful set-up for our intimate ceremony. If you’re looking for help planning your engagement or wedding, you’ve found the best there is. My now-husband found Julianne for help pulling off a beautiful proposal. After her flawless execution of our engagement, we couldn’t sign on quick enough to have her plan our wedding.

Julianne is incredibly easy to work with. She was quick, efficient, responsive, as well as flexible and accommodating to our schedules. From the minute we signed on, it was obvious we had made an excellent choice. She was able to craft a perfect vision for the wedding of our dreams by just getting to know us. To top it all off, we got to spend 28+ months working with Julianne, who is a true gem of a human. She never failed to brighten our day and even convinced us that wedding planning is a little bit fun. When we first started looking for wedding planners, it was way back in 2018 and we were both newly graduated students with a limited wedding budget. I was still feeling daunted by all the responsibilities of a newly engaged bride, and in comes this extremely organized online folder with all the recommendations and a thorough to-do list that clearly was put together through years of experience…. What a godsend! Needless to say, we picked every vendor from Julianne’s recommendations, and now looking back we know we were so lucky to have the dream team on our wedding day. Around comes covid, and despite the scramble to reschedule twice, Aimsley was every bit accommodating and supportive while we worked to find a new date… twice! Although wedding planning has its lulls, we never felt forgotten during the two covid years as every email was answered promptly and cheerfully by Aimsley. The excellent level of communication made all the logistics of planning a long distance wedding seem so trivial.

With the wedding fast approaching, we got to meet our wedding producer Renee- her warm and bubbly personality made us feel like we had been lifelong friends. It’s rare that through all the years and all of life’s unexpected moments, we got to meet a group of women who have been steady, gracious, professional, accountable- yet also unbelievably full of love and genuinely care so much for their clients. Whichever package you sign up for with JYW, you will feel taken care of and supported with more than enough help and encouragement. It’s such a bittersweet moment when your dream wedding finally comes to life because that’s when you realize that you (hopefully) won’t need to plan a wedding again, and you’ll miss this incredible team and their ah-mazingness. Hiring Julianne Young Weddings as our wedding planner was the best decision we made for our wedding. Stephanie was a dream to work with. Navigating wedding planning during the COVID-19 pandemic was stressful, and Stephanie was emotionally supportive while working to manage every detail.
