If you're celebrating a destination wedding in Banff, Alberta then you're most likely considering ways to extend your wedding weekend past just one wonderful day.

After all, your guests have travelled all that way… Why not make the most of it!

Having a rehearsal dinner or a welcome party as guests arrive is a great way to kick off the festivities of the weekend, and have some casual chats and catch ups with your friends & family before the big day, so that it doesn’t feel like it all just flew by.

Obviously, we are big fans of extending your wedding beyond just the day itself, and we are always asked what our favourite recommendations are for a welcome party of rehearsal dinner in Banff. Here is a list of what we consider the most fun & unique options that our clients have loved.

But first – What makes a good venue for your rehearsal dinner? In our opinion, it’s somewhere that your guests would want to experience anyways while travelling to Banff. It’s a space where the vibes are immaculate, the decor is on point, and the menus are something to rave about.

So if that vibes with your goals for a welcome party, check out the options below and you won’t be disappointed… Enjoy!

Three Bears Brewery – This space will have you at the hanging greenery and open air concept (one of a kind in Banff!) but it will WOW you at the menu. They also have a private room on the second level that our clients love if you have a smaller group.

PARK Distillery – This is your Banff Ave classic option that all your guests will want to visit when they’re here…. Trust us. It’s a very popular distillery (for good reason!) with several different options for private/semi private spaces to choose from.

LUPO Italian Ristorante – This newer option to the lineup absolutely had us at “ciao” when it opened. The natural lighting and Italian market influence is breathtaking, and has all the character and upscale design you’d dream of for a welcome party. It’s one of the most popular restaurants in Banff with a menu that is acclaimed across the country.

Hello Sunshine – This one is close to our hearts… At Hello Sunshine, you’ll find the best sushi in Banff, a unique menu of exciting cocktails to explore, and two exquisite karaoke rooms that can be booked privately. We promise even if that’s not something you do regularly, the space is so cool it will make you hit those Mariah notes just right… We promise.

High Rollers Bowling Alley – This one is a family favourite. Great for larger groups with a more casual “pints & pizza” approach, we love this bowling alley for it’s charm and character. And what a surprise for your guests the night before.

And now the tough part is choosing just one of them! The best part of all of these options are available through The Banff Hospitality Collective – So you can reach out to their amazing team and ask about their options to best suit your group size & budget.

Good luck, and happy celebrating!
