Now, we all know the “traditional” wedding is not for everyone, and they can be stressful for so, so many reasons. In that very first meeting with D&J, Julianne sensed that perhaps wasn’t going to be the right fit for these two adventure seekers, and offered a suggestion of an intimate wedding overseas (… We believe the exact words were “maybe you should consider a destination wedding, Greece is really cool right now.”) To our delight, the wide-eyed couple gave themselves permission to do their wedding in their own way & ignore the rules.
After a bit of research on various options throughout Europe, we landed on the amazing Kinsterna Hotel located on mainland Greece. This was certainly the path less travelled as opposed to the popular Santorini or Mykonos, and it allowed the couple and their closest 35 guests to experience the authentic side of this amazing country, while celebrating the love of this beautiful couple.
Now, yes we planned it & helped hire their amazing vendors and made it look pretty as we always do – But the best part of this event was building a partnership so closely with this couple, that they asked Julianne to officiate the marriage ceremony. To say it was an honour is an understatement. It was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience to be a part of something so meaningful.
