Proud to be a FINALIST for Best Wedding over $250k at the 2023 Canadian Event Industry Awards 🏆 Watch how we brought this space from a rugged patch of grass to award nominated wedding over 6 days. This event was full of complexities and challenges which made for one of the most rewarding & exciting event outcomes we’ve ever been a part of 🤍 From loading in a 60x80 pole tent up a golf cart width access road, to arranging generators for power, rain backup plans (which were utilized!) and managing wildlife in the area 🦌🐻🐿️… Meredith and Shawn’s wedding kept us on our toes and we are so proud of the entire team for this incredible & collaborative effort! It took a village to make this village.

What an honour to be named the Canadian Event Indu

What an honour to be named the Canadian Event Industry’s Wedding Professional of the Year 🥹🎉 @canadianspecialevents

Accepting this award last night had me all choked up! This means more to me than you might know. As someone who had a teenage dream of being a wedding planner, and have dedicated most of my life turning that dream into reality… This was surreal.

Thanks to my incredible team, especially those by my side in 2022. I’m grateful to each of you and can’t wait to see what we do next as we continue to deliver amazing client experiences and make so many great memories along the way.

Thanks also to my family & friends who love and support me when I go off the grid from June-September. My most amazing and patient husband who see’s me on the best and worst days, and holds my hand steady no matter what, I love you.

I am so lucky and proud to be in this industry among so many other wildly talented and passionate people 🤍 Congratulations to all the winners and nominees!!

Also, ICYMI… This news also comes around the same time that Kris and I gladly announced that our second baby boy is due in August! I feel like the luckiest person in the world, it’s been a big week 😂 And I cannot thank everyone enough for their kind words and support, on both exciting fronts ❤️

When I first started out as a wedding planner, I thought it meant I had to know everything. That I had to be the expert in florals, lighting, photography, etc in order to be successful.. AKA, little miss know-it-all 😂 Over the years, I’ve realized that is not only impossible to be an expert in so many different fields, but it’s also straight up just not the point.

As I’ve grown in this industry, I’ve found that the most rewarding and successful events come from engaging a wide network of true experts in their own field, and being the central point that helps them all work together effortlessly. We team up, we trust each other, we have built lasting partnerships that feel collaborative and empowering. From that sense of community comes the dreams this industry is built on. Without these relationships, weddings would be unfortunately transactional. They’d be “just a job”.

It’s never been just a job for me - And with that, it’s a tremendous honour to be nominated as the Wedding Professional of the Year at the Canadian Event Industry Awards this year @canadianspecialevents

It’s been an exciting, rewarding, challenging and trying 12 years of running Julianne Young Weddings, and I couldn’t be more honest when I say - It just keeps getting better.

Thank you to the industry and the people in it that fuel each other to be the best we can be and make memories that our couples will cherish for the rest of their lives. I am lucky to work with so many great partners and my amazing team that see their careers and purpose the same way I do ❤️

The reason we love working in restaurants like @th

The reason we love working in restaurants like @thelakehouseyyc is because they already have so much character! It’s all about the ✨VIBE ✨because in the end, going with a venue that you already love the feel of aesthetically is typically more cost efficient than a cheaper “blank slate” style space. You end up getting more mileage with every dollar you spend to personalize and make the space feel like you.

Plus, restaurants usually have modern and unique menus (I mean, it’s their main game!) and access to an amazing wine list… All things we love for hosting an unforgettable wedding.
