The showpiece surrounding the newly wedded couple, arches add the perfect dimension and focal point as guests make their way into the ceremony venue. Arches also create a ideal backdrop and frame for the couple as they say their I do’s!

One of our most loved arches are from K&J’s wedding at the beautiful Fairmont Banff Springs, photographed by Gabe McClintock. The sumptuous arrangements of roses, hydrangea and amaryllis by Amborella Floral Studio creates a beautiful and feminine addition to the already lovely ballroom. With a shape to complement the windows behind it, the arch is finished with flowing chiffon draped elegantly at the base.

At a recent JYW destination wedding to Puerto Aventuras, Mexico, Julianne designed a wedding arch that wouldn’t take away from the naturally stunning backdrop of the ocean, but still served as a focal point for the guests. From paper to reality, the arch is beautifully executed with overflowing greenery and pristine white roses.

Our favourite florals for arches include roses, hydrangea, calla lilies, tulips, dahlias and lots of greenery. Our tip is to stick with a colour scheme of 2-3 colours, and choose no more than 4-5 types of flowers. Most importantly, have your wedding arch reflect your style and concept of the wedding. Don’t forget to thoroughly examine the venue and natural backdrop- nature is the best inspiration!
XO, Samantha
